DELEGATE: The Power of Delegation Aftercare

Tip No. 9

Most of the conversation around delegation focuses on the mechanics: what to hand off, how to ask, what done looks like. All of that matters. But mindful delegation® doesn't end when the task does. The aftercare — what happens after someone comes through for you — is what makes the whole thing sustainable over time. And honestly, a lot more delicious.

It starts with saying thank you. Genuinely, specifically, and out loud.

THIS WEEK’S DELEGATE TIP:

Express genuine gratitude to someone who has taken something off your plate — and be specific about why it mattered.

Not a quick "thanks" in passing. A real acknowledgment: what they did, what it freed up for you, and why you're grateful it was them. Specificity is what makes gratitude land.

Delegation works best when it feels like a relationship, not a transaction — and gratitude is the currency that makes that possible. It's what keeps the people who show up for you willing to keep showing up. It weaves individual acts of help into something that actually holds together over time.

And it does something for you, too. Naming what someone else made possible reminds you that you're not carrying this alone.

SIT WITH THIS

Who has made my life easier lately, and have I told them what that's actually meant to me?

Go tell them. Today, if you can.
